About Me

Originally from Rockford, Illinois, USA, I have long held a passion for the outdoors and wildlife conservation. I have had the privilege of working on a variety of research projects throughout the Americas related to forest ecology, ornithology, and seed dispersal. Outside my research life, I enjoy playing soccer, casual birding, catching fish whenever I can, and growing/breeding of hot peppers.

I am broadly interested in community ecology and behavioral ecology. I am particularly drawn to plant-animal interactions as well as how behavioral mechanisms contribute to the complex dynamics and indirect effects both within populations and in communities. The common thread of my work to this point has been a focus on the ecology of seed hoarders and seed dispersers. In the future, I hope to pursue career opportunities focusing on applied research that integrates forest conservation with human livelihoods and sustainable development.
